Barbara Maloney, Director of  Family Ministry

Barbara has served as Family Ministry Director at Queen of Heaven for 12 years. Prior to that she served in various capacities of faith formation and pastoral administration at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish as far back as 1980. As Director of Family Ministry at Queen of Heaven Parish, Mrs. Maloney is the oversight person for faith formation programs. She is directly responsible for the inter-generational faith formation program for Pre–K through 10th grade, for various program options for grades seven through ten and the sacramental preparation programs for the Sacramentsof Initiation at the parish.  Along with these responsibilities, Mrs. Maloney is the oversight person for primary level faith formation and works closely with the coordinator of this program. Barb has been married for 47 years to Deacon Tim Maloney. They have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. Barb’s favorite thing to do is spend time with family and travel! She loves spending time at the beach and looks forward to the day she retires to her dream home on a beach somewhere yet to be determined!

Chris Wilson, Director of Youth Ministry

Chris joined the Queen of Heaven staff in August 2018 as the Director of Youth Ministry.  He is originally from central Kentucky (the land of horse racing, legendary college basketball, and bourbon whiskey).  Chris studied for his Masters in Theology at Franciscan University of Steubenville and is a convert to the Catholic Faith.  Since his conversion, he has been involved with Life Teen, campus ministry, young adult ministry, homeless ministry, and praise and worship ministry.  In his spare time, Chris enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, sports, cooking for others, and spending time in the great outdoors.  He is very excited to minister to the youth and young adults here at “The Q”!

Sheila Thie, Administrative Assistant for the Youth and Family Ministry Department

Sheila has been an integral part of this department at Queen of Heaven for twenty plus years. Offering a warm smile and a friendly welcome, she is the first point of contact for many families with children in our parish. Sheila is married with three wonderful children. She enjoys reading, traveling with family and friends and most of all spending time with and spoiling her six beautiful grandchildren.

Jennifer Frost, Youth and Family Ministry Assistant

Jennifer joined the Youth & Family Ministry staff in August 2018.  In her role here, she will be working with the Edge program and the primary level and Family Faith programs.  Growing up Jennifer attended Our Lady Help of Christian’s school in Cheektowaga and Holy Angels Academy. She attended Mass with her family, enjoying a nice breakfast afterwards where they would reflect and converse over what happened at Mass or even the songs they enjoyed hearing! In her role at Queen of Heaven, Jennifer hopes to help young people to know how important the memories you build with your family are, and how to draw a connection between real life experiences and the scriptures.  As a participant in a 500+ mile bike ride from NYC to Niagara Falls benefiting cancer research, Jennifer reflected on how much she has to be grateful for. Each day she rode with fighters, survivors and supporters and the one thing they all had in common was their faith.  Jennifer is very excited to help our parish youth live out their faith and become closer to Jesus Christ.  Jennifer currently works at Citi as an Operations Manager and was married at The Q in October 2017. She resides in South Buffalo with her husband Ryan. You can often find her trying out a new restaurant & scoping out the local consignment shops!  Family time is key and she believes a Sunday well spent brings a week of content!
